Kong 8th Wonder of the World
Kong – The 8th Wonder of the World is a Playtech slot machine based on the 2005 movie by Peter Jackson, and features cast members such as Jack Black and Naomi Watts in the game. The slot itself is packed with features – including, not one, but two bonus games! You can also play the game for free, without registration right here on Oggs – Play Kong for free!
Kong: 8th Wonder is a 5 reel slot, with 20 paylines, and you can bet anything from a penny per line, up to £5. There are 2 game modes in the slot – Jungle & Big City, and the mode that you are in determines the type of free game and bonus game that you will be able to trigger.
This is the mode that you start in when you open up the game. As you might expect, this has a jungle background – but that does not impact on your play. Where it does come into effect is when you trigger the free-spins or the bonus game. In the jungle mode, the free-spins are excitingly referred to as ‘WILD JUNGLE RESPINS’ (ooooh…) what you get are 3 spins, and additional wilds are added, but with the added bonus of each time a wild appears, it is frozen in place until the end of the feature! However, the feature can’t be re-triggered, and you can’t trigger the bonus game during it.
3 scatter symbols will, in Jungle mode, trigger the ‘Skull Island Bonus’ game – see more below. Once the game is completed, the game will switch over to Big City mode.
Big City Mode
Here, the symbols are the same, if a bit more fancy (well, you wouldn’t wear your jungle kit in the city now, would you?). The gameplay is also the same too, though here, the bonus game is the ‘City Tower Bonus’ and the free-spins are slightly different. Like in Jungle mode, you’ll only get 3 spins, and neither the bonus round or additional free spins can be (re)triggered. Instead of the wilds being frozen, in this feature, different reels become wild on the different spins
- Spin #1: Reels 1 & 5 are treated as wild
- Spin #2: Reels 2 & 4 are considered wild, and finally
- Spin #3: Reels 1, 3 & 5 are wild
Kong himself is (appropriately) the wild symbol in the game and will substitute for any other, with the exception of the Scatter (see below). Kong is also the highest paying symbol, paying out 3,000 credits if you manage to get 5 to appear on a payline. These also act as a scatter in order to trigger one of the free-spin modes
The film logo acts as a scatter symbol, 3 or more of which triggering one of the bonus games (depending on which mode you are in)
Skull Island Bonus
This is a standard ‘pick 3 matching symbols’ type bonus game. Here the objective is to find Kong to win the maximum prize available of 30x the bet that got you there, but 3 of the other symbols can net you 10x, 15x or 20x your initial stake. Once completed, the game then loads into ‘Big City Mode’.
City Tower Bonus
This bonus round sees Kong atop the Empire State Building, fighting off attack from the air. There are 3 rounds of planes, and in each round, you’ll have a choice of 3 to take out. Each one has a different value attached to it. As with the other bonus game, once it has been completed, the slot will take you back to the ‘Jungle Mode’
