Super Eighties is a video slot from Net Entertainment, chock a block full of nostalgia from the golden era of shoulder pads, perms and yuppies; not least with a suitably cheesy electronic theme tune 🙂
As you’d expect from a video slot, Super Eighties has 5 reels, with a whopping 40 paylines. Coin value maximum is 0.50, which together with a max coin bet per line of 5, gives a max bet per spin of 100. The symbols in use in the game start out as neon sign versions of the higher value playing cards (10 up through the picture cards to Ace), with chunky mobile phones, pink stilettos and a good old fashioned Walkman amongst others for the higher value symbols in the game.
A cartoon of an 80’s chick acts as a scatter symbol; 3 of which will give you a 2x multiplier for that spin, plus activate 5 free spins which can be re-triggered. The “80’s Wild” symbol will substitute for any symbol within the game apart from the scatter, as well as being the highest paying item in this slot.
The Wild is pretty handy, since they come in a grouping on a reel. Whilst this is not particularly useful in of itself, it does mean that should you get a wild, you’re more likely to get more than one! Where it gets really interesting is when you get two or more reels with a few wild symbols on, especially on the left hand side of the play area since two together dramatically increase the number of winning paylines on a given spin.
Super Eighties is a Net Entertainment slot, so has the usual features, such as being only available as an instant play version of the game, and the excellent autoplay mode, which is really easy to use, although somewhat hard to spot unless you know where it is (usually at the bottom left of the screen next to 3 other settings tabs).
Play wise, Super Eighties is pretty standard – it won’t burn through your wallet quickly but it’s also unlikely to give you any spectacular wins. A nice video slot if you just want to play for a while or if you’re a big fan of the Eighties
